Halloween and Bonfire night have come and gone and the country seems in full Christmas countdown mode and what better way to get into the festive vibe than with a trip to the Spirit of Christmas Fair 2019!
Christmas officially starts now as the UK's biggest, high-end Christmas shopping event (last year's event had over 50,000 people attend) has launched the festive season. Spirit of Christmas returned to London Olympia earlier this month for its 19th year and it surpassed all expectations! Each stall was occupied by an unrivalled range of independent boutiques which in a world where big brands are struggling, it was great to see so many businesses thriving and offering new ideas.
Show director Catherine Thake said that
"we are huge supporters of small businesses which means many of the boutique brands we present are exclusively available to our shoppers and this year we are welcoming even more!"
With a range of fabulous child and family friendly brands, we managed to get a start on our Christmas shopping and even got to say hello to a few familiar friends!
Regular #youngmumsurvival readers will know that we reviewed the Kings & Queens edition of History Heroes a couple of months ago and Lily loved them! I was so excited to hear they'd be at the fair as I've wanted to get some more for her to go in her Christmas stocking. History Heroes is a card game that also helps you learn a lot of interesting facts about monarchs, inventors, children and more! They're also launching an artist set soon.
These are perfect for Christmas as they're small but fun. We've bought Lily the children's set to go in her stocking and I know she'll be over the moon to receive them.

Nancy & Betty Studio
Nancy & Betty Studio is a local business to us in Kent that I've recently discovered and fallen in love with! Their stationary is crated from using recycled materials and vegetable based inks which will allow you to have a guilt free Christmas!
Their range of Christmas supplies are brilliant! The Brussel sprout printed wrapping paper has got to be a seasonal winner and the whole aesthetics of their products gives you that Pintrest-worthy, festive vibe.
Everything you need is here. The wrapping paper, matching gift tags, ribbons and cards. Shop their entire range today at www.nancyandbetty.com
If you watch Made In Chelsea then you'll know all about sweet company Candy Kittens! These sweets are too die for.... seriously once you have one, you'll end up finishing the packet. They had their sweet jars on offer and I bought one for myself and one for Lily's stocking. Mine barely lasted the drive home.
Sweets from Candy Kittens are vegan friendly and gluten free so are a great foodie gift for anyone and taste amazing! My personal favourite is their sour watermelon. It's addictive. They also do their sweets in wild strawberry, peach fizz, blueberry bliss, tropical mango and more. The options are endless.
The jars are a really nice size and again perfect for stockings! I always like to add a sweet treat to Lily's stocking and Candy Kittens wild strawberry sweets are going to be a winner.

I come from family of sweet lovers. I'm pretty sure my mum and sisters could smell out any sweets that are in my home in an instant!
The wonderful Philippa, a Cordon Bleu-trained chocolatier based in London, makes all of these beautiful, artisan treats herself and the time, effort and care that has gone into each one is incredible.
Diggle Chocolates are not only delicious, but they are like mini pieces of art. The skull collection is everything. My youngest sister loves horror films, halloween and spooky things in general and immediately thought of her when I saw them. This collection is available all year around (would be fabulous for Halloween 2020) while other seasonal products are also available.
For Christmas, you can purchase a caramel advent calendar and crackers filled with edible treats. If you wanted to add a personal touch, Philippa also offers bespoke chocolates!

What can I say about Dotty Dungarees. I saw the stand, went straight over and bought a lovely dress for Cecily! I just fell in love with their clothing range the moment I set eyes on it. I think the hardest thing was deciding what to buy!
Dungarees are a favourite of mine to get the girls as they look brilliant, are easy to get younger children dressed in and most of all, you can get so many outfit variations out of them by simply changing the top and adding tights or socks! I also love them as they're great whatever the weather.
I went for the Old Rose Pink Corduroy Dress for Cecily. It should fit her well throughout the winter months and will go with so many of the clothes and shoes she already has. It also comes with a matching pair of jersey knickers which I always find helpful to cover nappies in the summer if you're at a more formal occasion or having photos done! These dresses retail for £39 and are worth the money. The straps are adjustable and the quality of the material used is outstanding. I'm confident that Cecily will grow out of this outfit rather than wearing it out (a factor I always look for when buying things for the girls).
