Seven months in... Cecily is doing well with weaning (now up to three meals a day), we've celebrated Cecily's christening, Lily's birthday and I'm off back to work in a matter of weeks.
After finding the perfect nursery for Cecily, we found out that they only have space from MARCH for her on the days we need. I'm gutted as I felt she was really ready to start there, but we've accepted the place from March. Until then, we're just going to have to manage between us (which sounds exhausting!) but I'm sure it will work out.
I'm going back to work four days a week which will be great. I get to earn some money but still enjoy Friday's with my girls. This week I went along to a new baby group with some friends that runs on a Friday and really enjoyed it. It was such a lovely group of people but I'm gutted I won't be able to go to some fo the groups I have been going to anymore. It's run by the team at our local SureStart centre. I would take Lily there a lot when she was a baby and they helped me so much with my PND. It was quite nice to go back as I realised just how far I've come in six years and felt proud of myself.
The past couple of weeks though, Cecily has been a fussy monkey with her milk. I know babies reduce their amount of formula intake once they start weaning, but she has had the odd day here and there where she just isn't interested in it. It's so much effort now. Unless it's actual food, she just isn't bothered.
Speaking of food, I've given up making my own baby food as Cecily was clearly not impressed and her digestive system didn't like it either 😂. We shop mostly at Aldi and their food has been quite good, but I've been trying to buy jars of food when they're on offer (as the glass can be recycled rather than just thrown away). I've also found that Aldi has quite a limited selection of flavours which is disappointing. The range is well made and Cecily enjoys them, but the variety just isn't there.
We still don't have a crawler yet. Cecily hates tummy time and I've come to accept that she won't do it. Lily would just shuffle about a lot to get where she needed then went straight to standing and walking and it looks as though Cecily will be the same. Instead of tummy time, we've been helping her stand more and found a Fisher Price jumperoo for sale on Facebook which she loves! My friends little boy is slightly older than Cecily and he's loved his and some incredibly strong legs from the hours of bouncing!
Cecily has also moved into Lily's room. They've got a fabulous new bed (made by our friend) and now have a real castle to be princesses in! So far, it's gone okay but we'll see...
